Slow Cooker Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 rib celery
  • 1 onion
  • 1 lb lean round steak
  • 2 c gluten-free beef broth
  • 1 tb gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1 tb gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tb dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions

  • thinly slice the pepper, celery, & onion.  Lay the veggies on the bottom of a slow cooker
  • place meat on top of veggies
  • stir beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, red pepper flakes, ginger, garlic powder, salt & pepper together in a bowl; pour over meat
  • cover the pot.  Cook on low 9 hours
  • slice the meat into thin slices before serving

This was pretty good, but the meat tasted almost sweet.  Cody wasn’t a huge fan, but he ate it.  I think it’d be a good way to cook wild game steaks that are a little gamey tasting- I couldn’t even tell I used venison.  The onion & pepper pieces were pretty tasty too.
